Kalia stepped out onto the path, Kris following close behind, looking around warily. "Okay, so this is Route 1. Looks tame enough..." She glanced around at the grass to either side of the path, before looking down at Kris. "I take it this is your first time out this way too?"

The Snivy nodded, still on alert. Kris bent down, and patted him on the head. "Smell anything? I don't see anything around..." Kris shrugged, and Kalia straightened.

"Right, well...Off we go." She walked towards the edge of the path, stopping just before the ragged edges where the grass started. "Ready Kris?" The small pokemon nodded, and together they took their first steps off the path into the grass, looking around through the thick, knee high grass. Kalia laughed as Kris struggled to see over it, and she lifted him up, carrying him for now. Kris grumbled, looking away and crossing his little arms.

"Cheer up, little one." She grinned. "Someday you'll be huge, and miss being able to be carried around." She stood still, looking around for wild pokemon. "I don't think there's anything out and about right now, anyway, so let's go back to the path. She turned and began walking back towards the path. They'd gotten farther in than she'd thought, but the path was still fairly close. She picked her way back carefully, watching her feet to make sure she wouldn't get tangled and trip in it.

Takashi looked at Route 1 with excitement. His chance to meet wild pokemon to try and catch and for him and Ruby to become better partners and grow stronger together. He brought Ruby out of her pokeball. Shaking her feathers like before he smiled at her. "Well Ruby you ready to head out?"

She gave a little chirp in agreement and the two started heading out. Takashi and Ruby looked left and right of the Route keeping their eyes open for the unexpected. The two stuck to the road so as not to venture too far away from the path. He didn't want to get lost and who knows how strong the pokemon are the further away you are.

Ruby was excited but scared at the same time. She made sure to hide behind Takashi's leg until. He smiled and kept walking knowing one day she'll become incredibly powerful. Stopping on the trail he grabbed his map and opened it up. Looking at it carefully to figure out the correct way, just to make sure the trail was the right way to go.

Kalia reached the path again, and walked just off it, through the grass, as Kris paced her on the open pat. She was curious about the grass, watching it, looking for pokemon as she moved. Occasionally she would spot one of the more common pokemon in the distance, but it seemed pretty quiet for the most part. She walked, lost in thought, stopping once in a while to check her map. The path was pretty clear right now, but she didn't want to lose it should her attention wander too far.

After a little while longer, she stepped out of the grass, sitting down in the path. Kris hopped up into her lap, and she petted him idly. "Seems kinda lonely out here, Kris. Nothing much going on." The snivy nodded its agreement, but was more than content for the moment, leaning into his trainer's hand.

[Scara]

Ooc: Luck of the draw. Shiny Shinx was chosen. Shiny Shinx was chosen randomly for Kalia.

Suddenly, a blue bolt of fur shot through the grass, stopping near and within the line of sight from Takeshi. The form revealed a regular colored Shinx as it stopped to scratch its ear. Suddenly, a yellow bolt darted and tackled the other Shinx. The shinx barreled away, rolling as it stopped, just in front of Takeshi. It shook its head out of confusion.

It looked up and instantly darted away. The yellow creature was revealed to be a yellow shinx, who barked happily at the other, not aware of Takeshi, and gave chase to the blue shinx. However, while darting, the yellow shinx noticed the other trainer, who was travelling just out of the line of site by the other trainer. The yellow shinx halted.

"Shinx! Nix!" It shouted to the other, who as running blindly. However, by the sudden call of its friend, the shinx stopped, noticing the other trainer. The yellow shinx bounded after its blue friend, staring curiously at the girl. However, it's fur bristled, barking cutely at her. The regular shinx did the same thing, in the opposite direction.

Takashi was surprised when suddenly a blue fluff ball came running out of the grass. Torchic jumped and hid behind his leg as the Shinx looked at the two of them, He stared him when suddenly the yellow fluff ball jumped out as well tackling them. When the two went running off he forgot about his pokedex and reminded himself to scan pokemon like that.

He started walking cautiously behind the two Shinx looking for them without hopefully startling them he wanted to at least scan one, and hopefully catch one. He could barely see the blue and yellow fur in the distance a bit. So he carefully proceeded trying to not make a sound.

When he closed the gap a bit he saw that one of them was barking at something. Looking in the direction he saw a woman with a weird green pokemon in her hands. Remembering this time he grabbed his pokedex and scanned that one first. Learning it was a Snivy. "Never heard of that one..." He said softly. Curious Torchic poked it's head out from behind his leg to look as well.

Kalia jerked back when the pair of shinx started making noise, looking up to spot both of them running around confusedly on the path just as the oddly colored shinx challenged her. Kris leapt out in front of her, Staring at the shinx menacingly.

"Cool, a shinx!" Kalia said. "Well, Kris, you ready?" The snivy nodded, still watching the wild pokemon. "Well...let's start off with a tackle!" Kris darted forward immediately in response to his trainer's order, slamming into the shinx. Kalia cheered as her pokemon leapt back and away from the shinx, crossing its arms as it waited for retaliation.

Takashi saw that the girl started battling the yellow Shinx, so he thought he'd challenge the blue one. Looking up in the pokedex it seemed like a awesome addition to his team. Not to mention it was cute. Standing up tall, the blue Shinx barked at him. "Alright Ruby time for our first battle!" He shouted proudly.

Wanting to prove itself for Takashi Torchic jumped in front of him trying to look tough. It cried out to give itself a boost of confidence. Pointing his hand forward to the Shinx. "Ruby! Scratch attack!" His first command. Takashi was excited having his first battle with a wild pokemon.

Ruby ran through the grass as it neared the Shinx it jumped up into the air, Extending it's feet to cut down with it's talons against the Shinx. Happy that she connected she looked back at Takashi chirping happily.

[Scara]

-Shiny Shinx-

The Shinx flew from the Snivy as it performed it's tackle attack. However, it recovered easily as it briefly looked at its blue counterpart. Then she decided to do a tackle of her own, starting to run towards the Snivy, charging at her as she attempted to tackle the Snivy.

-Regular Shinx-

The shinx let out a pained 'iiiiinx' as the scratch connected against it. The shinx stared at the Torchic, glaring at it, as instead of tackling it like its friend did, it made its eyes glow, casting a leer attack on the Torchic.

"Kris! Brace yourself!" Kalia called as the shinx barreled forward. The Snivy turned its shoulder into the attack, taking the brunt of it with a wince. It straightened again, watching the yellow lion cub warily.

"You okay?" Kris asked, concerned. The Snivy nodded, glancing back at her as it waited for the next order. "Try another tackle, Kris!" Again, the snivy rushed forward, ramming into the Shinx, before leaping back out of the immediate range of retaliation. "Good boy! That was a good move!" Kalia called.

"Ruby, watch the opponent!" He tried to warn her but since her back was turned to the Shinx she wasn't prepared for the Leer, when she looked back at the Shinx glaring at her she started to run back to Takashi scared of the attack.

Trying to build her confidence back up. Takashi knelt down as Ruby came running to her. "It's alright, you can do this Ruby, you're strong. Believe you are strong." Feeling a bit better she looked back at the Shinx, legs shaking a bit. "Alright Ruby, try a growl attack!"

Shaking her little body getting herself ruffled up she let out a loud growl to hopefully intimidate the Shinx.

-Shiny Shinx-

The Shinx was once again struck by a tackle as she was somewhat dazed from it, unable to retaliate even if the Snivy were you have not jumped back. However, it was quickly shaken off as she returned the favor, running to the Snivy in an attempt to tackle her.

-Regular Shinx- The shinx's fur bristled at the growl, but soon shook it off. Since the leer and the growl canceled each other out, the shinx decided it was time for the offense, going for a tackle to the torchic.

Kris saw the attack coming, again shifting to brace himself, just as Kalia called out her warning. The Snivy grunted as it impacted before shaking it off and standing tall again.

Kalia worried her lip, before fumbling for a pokeball, holding it at the ready but not throwing it yet. "One more tackle, Kris! Keep up the good work!" The small green reptile nodded, before launching himself into another tackle, smashing into the shinx. Kris jumped backwards, and out of the immediate range of the shinx, before watching it warily.

Torchic was happy that the growl worked, she jumped up chirping. "Ruby move!" Opening her eyes to see the blue Fluff come charging at her she tried to jump up and out of the way but just wasn't fast enough. Being pushed back a bit she hit the ground and stood up slowly, shaking her feathers of the dirt.

"Okay Ruby, you've got this we just have to stay on the offensive and keep your eye's open." Ruby was serious now, she stood firm looking at the Shinx with a serious look about her now. "That's it ruby, Scratch attack!"

She let out a loud chirp before charging at the Shinx. She jumped up extending her feet for her claws at perfect range to cut down on the Shinx like before.

-Shiny Shinx-

The Shinx was hit once more as it rolled away, getting up weakly. It wasn't going to give up just yet. Going for the last strive, it ran towards the Snivy, attempting one more tackle.

The regular Shinx felt the scratch harder than usual as it let out a small yelp of pain as it fell to its side, glaring at the torchic, only having enough energy to use a leer attack on it.

"Kris! Stay strong!" The snivy grunted with the impact, bending a little as the wind was knocked out of it again. He straighted again, listing a little to one side. "Sni!" He was still ready to fight, but Kalia had other plans.

Kalia triggered the the pokeball, feeling it expand in her hand, before tossing it overhand. It hit the shinx in the side, letting out a red beam of light, and sucking it inside. Kalia clenched her fists, staring at the pokeball as it rattled back and forth on the ground. "C'mon...stay in there..." she worried her lip, hoping.
